Update to Mother’s Day Post

Here’s a couple of wonderful Mother’s Day moments that happened this year………..

1) I’m on my way home from church and I call Gino and tell him that we should go out to pizza for lunch, because that sounds really good. Gino then replies…. “I’m not feeling pizza.” Okay, Gino, what is it that Gino wants since it’s Gino’s day today. He shut his mouth and we ate pizza.

2) We came home and Gino went straight to the living room and turned on the Xbox 360 to play Grand Theft Auto 4. Lovely, just what I wanted to do on Mother’s Day. Watch Gino kill people on the TV…. Great! Needless to say I went upstairs to watch TV until he realized what he was doing.

3) After he turned off Grand Theft Auto and got me downstairs he turns on Sports Center. Are you kidding me?!?!? Do you really want to watch One Tree Hill Season 2 on Father’s Day? Because I promise I can so make that happen!

4) He turns off Sports Center to put on The Simpson’s for Him and Jayden. I at this point just had it. I don’t want to watch cartoons. I wanted to watch EXTREME HOME MAKEOVER! I went upstairs and watched it. FINALLY! Desperate Housewives comes on and Gino’s ready to turn the TV to something I like. So here’s where I out him online. Gino watches Soap Operas, LOVES Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Brother’s & Sisters…. GOSSIP GIRL is his favorite show…. yes, this is why I know I will always be with my husband. He watches the same shows as me 😉

5) Through all his mindless screw ups on Mother’s Day, there’s one thing I’ll never forget and made my day….. when I woke up in the morning he put his hand up and said “High five!!! Happy Mother’s Day you do a great job.”

And #5 is why despite trying to make Mother’s Day Gino’s Day I still love Him.

Mother’s Day

I’ll guess I’ll start with Mother’s Day. This Mother’s Day was nice. My in-laws were up visiting. We went to church and went out for pizza and then for dinner we got take out Applebee’s. Jayden did some pretty special things for me. I’m looking for my camera (yes, panic is flowing through my body as we speak over not being able to find it) and then I’m going to take pictures of what he did for me and upload them.

When we were at church I glanced over at Jayden and he looked up at me and I said, “I love you.” and he says, “I love you too, Mom, Happy Mother’s Day.” The sincerity in his voice gave me chills. He is so special to me. I love that little boy so much. I can’t ever imagine my little guy growing up, but it’s happening right before my eyes. I’m so proud that to be his mom. I’m so proud of what a wonderful big brother he is. He’s so concerned about Ella’s safety all the time. He’s always making sure she’s going to be okay. It just puts a smile on my face.

Yesterday I passed my kidney stone!!! YAY! I’m so excited to finally have that thing out. I’m feeling so much better.

Happy Birthday My Husband

I just want to say Happy Birthday to my heart and soul. You are an amazing husband and daddy and I know I don’t tell you this as much as I should. I appreciate everything in life that you do for your family and I know that I couldn’t have found a better man than you. I hope that this birthday today was everything that you wished for. You deserve it! Thank you for everything that you do for this family, for loving me unconditionally and for just being you. Thank you for being by far the best Dad I’ve EVER seen in my life. Our babies are so lucky to have you as their daddy. Happy 27th Birthday ~ I love you forever and ever and I know that we will be together as a family for all eternity.

Breakdown of your 27th Birthday ~ You worked unfortunately. You had to be to work @ 3am. Got off at 12pm and got to open up your Xbox 360. It was what you wanted since Grand Theft Auto 4 didn’t come out on the Wii. We went to dinner to your favorite place ~ Tin Tin Buffet – all you can eat Chinese food. Then back to work you went @ 7pm for a store meeting and now you’re home. Drinking a glass of wine and saving your Scooby Doo birthday cake Jayden picked out for you for tomorrow. And that basically sums up your 27th birthday. No club, no partying – just you and your family ~ and I can tell that you actually really enjoyed it that way. I love you so much!

Our Trip/Easter in Pictures

We drove into Sacramento at around 6:30pm. My mom, Sean, Jenna, My sister Jess, Gio & My nephew Vani came to visit us. It was the first time that my sister got to meet Ella. Of course, she loved her! And it was my first time meeting Jenna! It also was the first time that Jenna met my mom, which would be her biological aunt. It was a great time visiting with everyone.

Saturday morning we woke up and drove to Stockton so that Gino’s mom and brother, Gabriel, could meet Ella. Gino’s mom, Alice, was excited to finally meet her first girl. She has 3 sons and 1 grandson, Jayden.

Saturday night we went out to dinner with Gino’s friends Dave, Justin & Rob. We haven’t seen them since we moved in 2007.

Sunday after church we went on a picnic by the river and ate some delicious food! The above are pictures from the day. Ella LOVED being outside. Vani (my nephew) followed Jayden everywhere he went. It was really cute. Seeing everyone was so nice. But I was happy to come home. I realize that when we’re in the city our days fly by us. When we’re home it seems like they last forever. Maybe that’s because we don’t spend half of our lives in the car. I love my family, but I really love living in such a slow paced life. I hope that everyone had as happy of an Easter as we did. This is the first year in a long time that we actually celebrated Easter for what it really is. It felt wonderful to go to church, especially with Jenna and her beautiful family.

Jayden’s First "Real" Valentine’s Day

Last night Jayden sat down with his list of school mate’s names and wrote out each and every single Valentine. He was so excited this morning to go to his Valentine’s Day class. He even wrote “I Love You” on his girlfriend’s Valentine. I bought him the movie Aladdin for Valentine’s Day w/some chocolates. I couldn’t wait for him to get out of school today so I could watch it with him. That is one of my FAVORITE Disney movies. I think he was a little shocked when I knew all the words to all the songs. Actually I was a little shocked that I still remembered them. Yes, I was singing. Jayden would get mad if I sang the “boy” part. I was only allowed to sing when Jasmine sang. Jayden made me the sweetest card I’ve ever seen. In the pictures you’ll see his hand prints that are made into a heart and he wrote out the card all by himself. I’m so proud of him. He has turned into the most sweetest boy. Watching him grow into such a respectable, sweet , precious soul is so rewarding.

Our White Christmas

Yup! We had a White Christmas. Being that every single Christmas of ours together has been in Sacramento, we have yet to have a White Christmas. And Jayden has yet to have a one EVER! He did have a White Thanksgiving when he was 2 – he actually went skiing. I’ll have to find the pics of that and scan them – it was cute!

Okay ~ this year our Christmas was WONDERFUL!!!! It was peaceful and I just loved every second of it…except for the fact that I have this horrible cold. Christmas Eve we started a new tradition that we’re going to do every year with our children. We went and bought all the stuff to make Ice Cream Sundays!! They were delicious. So, we had the kids open 1 present, which were of course their Christmas PJ’s ~ here’s pics of that

So, Gino of course fell asleep early and Jayden was too excited to sleep. So, I had to stay awake until Jayden finally fell asleep so I could play Santa. Jayden finally falls asleep around midnight. And this required me to actually go and lay down w/him to get him to sleep. It also required me to try my hardest NOT to fall asleep with him. Could you imagine him waking up in the morning and running down the stairs to find that Santa did not eat his cookies or stuff his stocking or LEAVE HIM PRESENTS?!?!?! His world would have crashed at that moment. So, finally, Jayden falls asleep and I go pull out the toys. I actually had to snap Ella’s toy together and put screws in as I’m cursing profanities at my husband who is snoring on the couch. Then I got in a fight w/Jayden’s dinosaur. They screwed him to a post in the box. WTF!?!? I couldn’t find a screwdriver that would work. After about 30 minutes of me fighting w/the box I finally got the dinosaur free. Stuffed the stockings, threw the cookies away and tossed the milk (I was not in the mood for cookies at that point) and went to bed. My child didn’t wake up until 8:30am to see what Santa brought ~ Thank you, Lord. And I actually woke him up – I was anxious!! After we did our Christmas thing we got ready and headed up to my Grandparent’s house to spend Christmas with my family. Here are the pictures of our day ~ there’s not many, well, not as many as I would have liked, but I was so sick that pictures were the least of my worries……
