I’m done with this DRAINING DAY!

Today I cut all of my squares. I built my quilt and they’re sitting in a tempting little pile just waiting for me. I spent my evening trying to figure this machine out. It had me frustrated, but I must give a big THANK YOU to Rachel & Shannon for helping me out. I actually got it to sew tonight. I need to really practice and get comfortable with it, but at least I got the thing threaded and ready.

Jayden got sent home yesterday and has been extremely sick ever since. His fever got as high as 103.3 today and he has never had a fever over 101 before. I feel so bad for my little guy. I hope that tomorrow he’s better. He’s pretty upset because tomorrow is pajama day at school and take your favorite teddy bear to school day. He’s been excited about this all week, and now he’s gonna have to miss it.

I’m utterly beat for the day and am going to bed and praying that tomorrow is a better day than today was.

Jayden never ceases to make me laugh!

Jayden told Gino last night that Spiderman wasn’t real. Personally, I think this shocked Gino. Not because Jayden doesn’t think he’s real, but because Gino does think Spiderman is real. Conversation proceeded like this:

Gino: Just because you can’t see something doesn’t mean it isn’t real, Jayden.

Jayden: I know, Dad. I believe in Jesus and God, but I think Spiderman is a bunch of bologna.

Snow Day Pictures

Yesterday we took the kids up to my Grandparent’s property to get some pictures of them in the snow – so I could finally make some Christmas cards and get them sent off before Christmas. I can’t believe how fast this holiday is creeping up on us. Next week is Christmas and I’m really not all that prepared. There’s not 1 present under the tree (not because we haven’t bought any, but because we have a very rambunctious 16 month old daugher) and it’s weird. Also, this is the first year that Gino and I won’t have surprises under the tree and that’s kinda sad, but I’m happy that we’re both getting exactly what we want. I’m getting a sewing machine! I’ll pick it out and he can wrap it and I’ll act surprised and excited.

Anyway… so, they had lots of fun in the snow. Jayden got sleds and went sledding down the hills on their property, and even sled right into Ella. It was so sad. So, I took Ella inside by the nice fire and had hot chocolate. I finished our Christmas card last night and sent it off to Costco for printing. I’m not going to post it on the blog until Christmas ~ I’d like everyone to be surprised when they get it.

Jayden’s A ward

On Thursday Jayden’s school had an award ceremony, and Jayden got an award!! His award was for Written Expression ~ so he’s considered a great writer. I’m so proud of my little man… isn’t he getting so cute and so big????

I knew it was coming sooner or later!

Situation last night went down like this:

Jayden laying in his bed, us in ours… our door is open and I hear…

Jayden: Mom, a kid at school doesn’t believe in the tooth fairy. He says it’s his mom and dad who give him the money.

Me: Speechless and heart literally dropping into my stomach

Gino: Do you believe him, Jayden?

Jayden: No… he’s a liar liar pants and on fire. I believe in the tooth fairy! She needs teeth!

Me: Thanking God for keeping my little boy still little for a little bit longer.

Now, I know many parents have their own beliefs on this subject and it can get highly heated in debate forums, but I believe in keeping the excitement and spirit alive in my children. I think that it’s exciting anticipating the tooth fairy or Santa or any other mythical thing. I don’t want to take that away from my kids. I want Jayden to believe as long as he will. This will probably be the last Christmas that Jayden believes in Santa. I think what makes me the saddest about this is that he is growing up. I knew it had to happen of course, but it’s kindof hard to face. I hope that the magic in his heart stays there for at least a couple of more years.

I’m in a rut – but here’s an update

I haven’t had much to say lately. I’ve been sick with a cold for over 2 weeks now. Today’s the first day I woke up w/out a horrible sore throat, so that MUST mean that I’m on the road to recovery…. finally.

Next week is Thanksgiving and my mom will be coming up and bringing my niece, Alana. I am sooooooooo excited to get Alana and Ella together finally. Last year Alana was up for Thanksgiving, but they were just little babies.

I’ve been overwhelmed these past few days and today I’ve got a lot of tackling to do. It’s anti-procrastination day over at Flylady.net and I’m going to stop procrastinating and get some stuff done. I just have to do a nose dive into it all.

ELLA UPDATE:

She says the following now:

What’s that?
Who’s that?
Love
Shoes
JJ
Jay
Jayblah
mama
dada
baba
Ben
more
all done
thank you
oh wow
princess
No No
Don’t!
Mine!

I think there’s more, but those are the ones that are on top of my head. She talks all day long. This girl never stops. She’s climbing up on top of tables, trying to putt drawers out so she can get up on the counters. This girl is one determined and smart little cookie.

JAYDEN UPDATE:

Every night before bed HE reads me a book. He’s been doing amazing with his reading… I’m so proud of him. He’s been working on his Articles of Faith and has #1 done to a T, and we’re on #2 this week. If he can get it down we’ll move on to #3, but I have a feeling we’ll be on #2 for another week. We say it at night before prayers and in the morning before prayers. He’s done with soccer (I’ll get pics and video up soon) and he’s still doing amazing in his piano and is still working hard at Karate (or in his words Kung Foo).

I don’t understand sometimes why God blessed me with the most perfect, amazing, beautiful babies. I’m so lucky and blessed to be able to be their mom.

Daddy & Jayden’s Little Secret

High School Musical annoys more than anything, but Jayden has loved the first 2 and really wanted to see the 3rd one. That was until it actually was in theaters. I asked Jayden if he wanted Gino to take him and he got really defensive and said, “NO WAY!” I figured that some boys must have made fun of the movie at school so he felt like he couldn’t see it anymore, and that made me sad.

Today Gino and Jayden got up really early to go see Madagascar 2. They were having a special showing at 9:30am for a local boy that was recently diagnosed with an aggresive form of brain cancer. All proceeds from the movie would go to his family to help with travel costs back and forth from Portland where the 7 year old boy is getting treatment.

Well, they got to the movies and it was sold out. Jayden was so upset. They had opened up another movie to support this boy and the movie was High School Musical 3. Jayden was mad and wanted to go home. He told Gino, “That movie is for girls!” Gino knew that Jayden really wanted to see it, so he told Jayden, “J, it’s okay. We can go and see it and it will be our little secret…I won’t tell anybody.” And Jayden smiled and agreed and danced all through the movie LOL.

My Baby Boy is Sick :(

Well, it’s finally hit Jayden. My poor little guy was complaining of a tummy ache and I knew right then that my little guy was sick! He’s had the throw ups all night. Knowing how horrible it feels I feel so bad for him.

He missed out on the ward Halloween Party last night. I’d been looking forward to that party for a couple of weeks now 🙁 I’m so sad that we had to miss it.

Hopefully Jayden’s feeling better tomorrow for trick or treating. My poor little guy.

I’m feeling better. My tummy is still a little icky, but nothing compared to how I felt yesterday. Yesterday was just down right HORRIBLE.

Jayden being Jayden

Yeah, um… we had a talk with him about how we’re not supposed to want to be violent with the bullies…. Jayden wants to kill him. Should I be worried??? This kid at school has always messed with Jayden ~ which irritates me to know end, and Jayden was voicing his opinions on the matter here…

The funny thing is this:

If Cole and Jayden see each other in public they get all exicted and say hi to each other. 1st graders are a mystery to me!
