Do you have a hard time getting your child to clean their room? Or maybe you just want to make it fun and magical and exciting. I came across the House Fairy’s website and while I haven’t paid for a membership yet I’ve tested her out on my son Jayden and it works! To have them not knowing when the House Fairy will show to check on their rooms keeps them on their toes! The house fairy at my house leaves fun little surprises. Chapsticks, pencil, sometimes some coins for the piggy bank. It’s been a fun time and I’ve loved that we’ve made things exciting for him. He even cleans the sink after brushing his teeth! He doesn’t want the house fairy to see a dirty sink. And if I leave the living room messy at all before going to bed Jayden will remind me that the house fairy is going to think that this is just a mess! It’s fun. And it really helps!! I think I’m actually going to get a membership so he can see all the videos and stuff. $10.00 is nothing for the results I’ve already seen!

Thank you for visiting and for linking me; you made my day! I love your beautiful blog.
My mom used to visit our rooms periodically with a candy bar or something similar. It worked well! Even when I was a teenager and had to pretend not to care, I didn’t want to be ashamed by my room when my mom came to inspect. I’m so glad you found something that works for you!
This is such a great idea! I’m going to start this with my six-year old daughter, with a few specific “rules” for ourselves…food is not used as a reward or punishment, so the little somethings will be actual “things” and it won’t be a fairy…she will know it’s me. I can’t wait to try this!
I like the idea of turning cleaning into a “treasure hunt”. Cleaning up is a struggle in my house. Charts don’t work but this might.
I’ll have to remember this. I’m starting to get in the bad habit of cleaning up my three-year-old’s messes. It may be easier, but it certainly isn’t going to help her.
Also, thanks for the reminder on using the kitchen timer for my own chores. We can accomplish a lot in fifteen minutes. And, it wouldn’t hurt if I limited my computer time as well.
Hi…i thought i’d stop by and pay you a visit….great place! and, thanks for visiting my blog and your comment. I love that fairy idea. I think I’ll use it with my grandkids. I love the look of your blog and your quote on family. Very sweet. blessings to you.
Thanks for suggesting that Fly lady. My wife says she has read her stuff and done some of the suggestions.
The Fairy sounds awesome. She’s real, right?
